About Us
The global waves is a Christian-based NGO that seeks to empower young people and communities. We provide interactive platforms for mentorship, networking and support communities to create the desired and needed change around them.
This vision, born in 2016 started with a simple desire to see young people receive the support they need early in their development and navigation through life choices and decisions, to help shape their young minds, provide a nurturing environment, and connect them with relevant resources that will help them succeed. We believe that the change we need in our communities lies with these young minds, and sustainable development is possible if we channel our efforts into equipping them at an early age to be in the forefront of this change, as people that wield a lot of power to leave a legacy for posterity.

OUR MISSION
- Nurture young minds to successfully navigate issues of daily living and in their quest to secure a solid future.
- Nurture interest in dentistry, provide professional support and mentorship to dental students and increase dental education in communities.
- Empower young people to create the needed transformation in their communities through collaborative efforts.
OUR OBJECTIVES
- Create online and onsite platforms and avenues to connect young people where they can network with each other, receive seasoned counsel on relevant topics, and be connected with appropriate resources to cater to their unique needs as required. Various subjects will be addressed, interactive exercises will be carried out and opportunities to volunteer through giving back to other young people as ambassadors will be provided.
- Create dental clubs in middle and high schools where young minds can be nurtured to prepare for a career in dentistry.
- Create a platform for dental students to be mentored through school and to learn more about the opportunities available to them in the profession of dentistry through networking locally and internationally with seasoned dentists. Empower dental students to give back by nurturing predental students who are interested in a career in dentistry and to communities through education, screenings and provision of dental services where needed.
- Organize community hacks where young minds can be engaged to solve outstanding problems in their communities through friendly competitions, and be supported by sponsors in a collaborative effort to implement the emerging ideas, making them key stakeholders in creating the change their community needs.

The Global Waves team has at the core of its mission the goal to empower young minds to believe in themselves, tap into the resources available to them, and become an all-round success in life.
My background in dentistry makes me particularly passionate about mentoring the next generation of dentist who feel supported throughout their training, are full of empathy and have the communities they serve in mind in the practice of their profession. Together with my team, we hope to provide early mentorship to young people who are exploring dentistry as a career option, mentorship and support to current dental students and to give back to communities through dental education to help increase awareness of preventive oral health conditions.
In a collaborative effort with our sponsors, we hope to provide avenues for sustainable community transformation in partnership with the youth and stakeholders in various communities. We hope to contribute to culturing a generation of deep thinkers, responsible members of society and outstanding leaders through these avenues.
